A practicing accountant since 1983, Chris' background includes experience working for a small regional accounting firm in Maryland managing a professional client base. His duties included the preparation of financial statements and quarterly reports, pension plan returns, tax returns, payroll returns, as well expense account analysis, bank reconciliation and tax-planning services for corporate and individual clients. He also assisted management in the training of new staff accountants.
Chris also worked as a supervisor in the small-business department of a Long Island CPA firm. His responsibility in this unique department was to supervise accounting and tax functions for 20+ client companies ranging from small retail chains to medical and law practices. Chris managed the activities of staff accountants and reviewed client's accounting records for accuracy, assisted company bookkeepers with accounting procedures, reviewed monthly and year-end financial statements and corporate and individual tax returns. He also consulted with company owners regarding future business plans and financial needs, outlining tax plans and proposing budgets.
Today Chris counsels individual and business clients on maximizing their financial position through the implementation of accounting and tax-minimization strategies and oversees the preparation of individual, corporate, partnership and trust and estate returns. In the preparation of financial statements, Chris also manages the firms peer review process as administered by the New York State Society of CPAs.
